15 February 2022

abrdn is pleased to announce two senior hires to its Core Infrastructure business. These appointments support the Infrastructure team’s ambitious growth agenda, whilst strengthening the focus on delivering best in class opportunities to our global client base.

abrdn’s third Core Infrastructure Fund, which recently had its first close, represents a continuation of the strategy of the team to focus on European mid-market Core and Core+ investments across the energy, utilities, transport and digital sectors underpinned by strong ESG principles

Will Cunneen joined in December as an Investment Director based in London, where his focus is on the sourcing, execution, due diligence and monitoring of investment opportunities and asset management of portfolio investments./p>

Prior to joining abrdn, Will worked for Macquarie Group in the UK and Australia, most recently as a Senior Vice President in the Infrastructure M&A advisory team in the UK. Before that, he worked for PwC in Australia. Will has a Bachelors of Engineering and a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a CFA Charterholder.

Priya Nair joined in January as Business Development and Strategy Director based in London, where her primary focus will be to lead on business development, investor relations and strategy across the Core Infrastructure business.

Priya previously held senior positions at Deutsche Bank, Citi and most recently Royal Bank of Canada. She brings over 25 years’ experience advising clients on private markets with a specialised focus on Infrastructure transactions. She also sits on a number of boards. Her background covers corporate finance, structured finance, derivatives, product structuring and digital transformation. Priya has a BA (Hons) from Trinity College Dublin, where she studied Biochemistry and Genetics.

These appointments further strengthen the Infrastructure team and reflect the on-going growth and success of the business.

Dominic Helmsley, Head of Core Infrastructure, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Will and Priya to the team. Bringing new experience into the business allows us to further strengthen our ability to source, execute and manage attractive mid-market infrastructure opportunities in partnership with our investors.”
