Solheim Cup Captains with Nicola SturgeonWe hosted our fifth annual Diversity Summit on 10 September at Gleneagles in Scotland. We ran the event in association with the Scottish Government and The Solheim Cup – one of the biggest events in the women’s golf calendar, for which we are a global partner. The 2019 tournament is also taking place at Gleneagles.

This year’s Diversity Summit brought together a range of civic leaders, partners and decision makers, to discuss practical ideas on how to encourage diversity in their respective organisations. It supports our continuing work to promote the importance of inclusion and diversity in our industry.

The discussions this year focused on three main themes:

  • Diversity of thought: The importance of embedding diverse thinking into an organisation and building long term value
  • Diverse experiences: How implementing practical steps can lead to diversity in practice
  • Diversity moving forward: The future of the diversity debate and its potential impact on society.

We hosted guest speakers from across the world. They shared some fascinating perspectives on inclusion and diversity, and on how we can make practical changes and keep the conversation going across society.
