Standard Life Aberdeen is proud to be named by Business in the Community as one of the UK’s Best Employers for Race.
Creating a Best Employers for Race list was one of the recommendations made in the McGregor-Smith Review of race in the workplace earlier this year to showcase best practice on race equality in UK workplaces. Successful organisations had to evidence that they are putting leadership on race into place within their organisations, creating inclusive workplace cultures and taking action in at least one of three areas - leadership, progression and recruitment.
At Standard Life Aberdeen, we are focused on promoting inclusive employment and to providing an environment which attracts a diversity of talent, where all our people can be themselves and reach their potential. We view inclusion in the broadest sense – in people’s backgrounds, experiences, strengths and thinking – which we know leads to stronger decision-making, innovation and ultimately performance.
Race equality is an important part of this and we’re proud of the actions we have in place, such as our inclusive recruitment practices, training, data gathering, and our BAME employee network. We also recognise there’s more to do, and we’ll continue working with all our employees to understand how we can best support them to succeed at work
Lynne Connolly, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion said:
“I’m really pleased that Standard Life Aberdeen has been recognised in this way. It shows the work we’ve done across the business to bring people together, to examine our current practices and start a conversation about how we can do better. Of course, we know there’s more we can still do to make our workplace an open and inclusive place for everyone – and we’ll be making sure we keep the conversation going, to help make that happen.”
