We're delighted that Amanda Young, our Global Head of Responsible Investment, is included in the annual list of women making their mark on the financial services industry in Europe – published by Financial News. Amanda is part of the list for the third year running.

This year's list reflects the importance businesses are placing on environmental change and social responsibility. A number of women recognised in 2019 oversee responsible investing divisions, or are driving work to advance how environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are influencing investment activities.

One of the main reasons Amanda has been included is her work in influencing our industry to engage with responsible and 'impact' investing – investments that make a positive social or environmental impact as well as a financial return. Our support for Good Money Week and our partnership with Big Issue Invest are recent examples of the importance that our company places on these activities.

In addition to her day-to-day role, in which she oversees £18bn in sustainable investment strategies, Amanda was actively involved in the formation of the Impact Investing Institute – an independent working group that aims to improve the growth and effectiveness of impact investing in the UK.
