The evolution of Standard Life Wealth

21 January 2019

Standard Life Wealth, the discretionary fund manager today announced its rebrand to Aberdeen Standard Capital (ASC), marking an exciting new chapter in the company's development. The change reflects the closer alignment to Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) and will see ASC harness the full global investment capabilities of ASI to deliver tailored investment solutions for their clients.

Aberdeen Standard Capital works with advisers and end-clients and offers a range of services from fully personalised segregated accounts through to model portfolios. In addition to drawing on the investment insight and research capability of ASI, ASC will continue to access a broad spectrum of investment opportunities through third party providers.

Richard Charnock, Chief Executive Officer at Aberdeen Standard Capital said:
"Over the past 10 years we have built a successful business, sharing a close link with our parent company Aberdeen Standard Investments. The rebrand emphasises that we draw on the full global investment capabilities of Aberdeen Standard Investments enabling us to harness opportunities across markets, sectors and asset classes, putting ASC in an exceptional position and enabling us to leverage institutional investment capabilities and global research for the benefit of our clients.

"Aberdeen Standard Capital will continue to build on its legacy where we are known for supporting private clients, charities and other organisations achieve their financial goals - whether that is helping to make their capital grow; supporting the generation of a reliable income; or simply seeking to address inflation. By taking full account of sustainability, environmental and ethical considerations, we will help them invest for a better future"

Standard Life Wealth was set up over a decade ago to successfully help private clients and institutions - such as charities - achieve their long-term financial goals, aligned to their aims, values and priorities. The change is effective immediately and includes a new logo, website update and related branding throughout the business.

Investment involves risk. - The value of investments, and the income from them, can go down as well as up and an investor may get back less than the amount invested. Past performance is not a guide to future results.
