Brett Jollie

Managing Director

Brett Jollie is the Managing Director of abrdn Australia. In this role Brett has strategic oversight (investment, distribution and operational) of the Australian business and is responsible for ensuring all business functions work effectively and cohesively in achieving the Group’s strategic goals.

Brett has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He joined abrdn in 2000 and has held roles in operations, product management, sales and marketing in Australia and the UK. Before joining abrdn, Brett worked for EquitiLink Australia, Chase Manhattan Bank and Permanent Trustee.

Brett is a member of the Financial Services Council (FSC) Funds Management Board Committee and the NSW Council of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce. Previous roles include Director of the Financial Services Council (2013 to 2020), Co-Chair of the FSC Investment Board Committee (2013-2020), and member of the FSC Standards Oversight & Disciplinary Committee (2015 – 2019).

Brett holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, both from the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA). He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Shauna Osullivan

Shauna has over 30 years’ legal experience in the financial services industry.

Shauna joined abrdn in 2007 when it acquired Deutsche Asset Management. She previously worked in various legal and compliance roles across the Deutsche group, and at Amro Bank, Freshfields in Singapore and King Wood Mallesons.

Shauna holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in accounting, finance and systems) from the University of New South Wales.

Allisson Monahan

Allison Monahan is the HR Manager and represents the HR division in Australia. In her role Allison is responsible for partnering with the Australian business to shape a culture where the right people deliver extraordinary results, through the delivery of employee and leadership development and engagement; talent acquisition and retention; compensation and benefits; and supporting organisational transformation.

Allison joined abrdn in 2014 and has 15 years’ experience in various HR roles across different industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul USA.

Roneel Prasad is the Head of Risk & Compliance in Australia and represents the broader risk division in the Australian business. In his role Roneel is responsible for ensuring the Company is compliant with its regulatory obligations, risks are identified and controls are implemented to mitigate those risks. Roneel has over 10 years’ experience in various risk roles in abrdn.

Roneel holds a BA in Accounting and Economic from The University of the South Pacific, Master of Business Law from Southern Cross University and is a member of CPA Australia.

Bill Haughey

Head of Infrastructure Investment

Bill Haughey is the Head of Infrastructure Investment and Asset Management at abrdn Sydney office. Bill is in charge of the Infrastructure Funds primary and secondary investment activity in Australia and New Zealand. His primary responsibilities involve targeting strategic investment opportunities, developing and fostering client relationships and delivering long-term stable investment returns for investors via abrdn Global Infrastructure Partners (I, II and III) Ltd.

Bill has 23 years experience in the project finance marketplace. He has worked on a breadth of infrastructure projects and prior to moving to Australia in 2015, led the Infrastructure teams origination focus in the UK and Ireland. He has worked on a range of sectors including, road, rail, health, education and energy from waste. He sits on the Board of 5 Australian PPP Projects including chairperson of two.

Bill was formerly a Senior Director in Project Finance Team at Lloyds Bank, having been previously a Lead Director in Infrastructure Finance Team in Bank of Scotland. Prior to this he held various roles within the Halifax Commercial Finance Division. Bill is an FCA approved person.

Head of Retirement and Digital Innovation Jason has a wealth management and pensions background from his time in Australia and overseas over the course of 30 years. He has worked in industry and in professional services firms focussing on strategy, marketing, operations, M&A and digital transformation.

He leads abrdn retirement income expansion into Australia, focussing on working with other industry organisations to provide a fresh and forward thinking set of solutions across digital, member, adviser and investment funds.

Previously, Jason was a partner at EY in the financial services practise and IBM’s Global Pensions Leader, where he ran business and digital transformations for wealth and retirement firms in the US, the UK, Malaysia and Australia. During this time, he also ran a superannuation back office processing business for 300,000 members.

He has a BSc from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.

Andrew Kophamel has worked in Financial Services for 20 years, focusing initially on Performance, for both asset managers and service providers, and more recently broadening his expertise to include data management/reconciliation and investment operations.

He is a frequent presenter and writer, on topics such as Attribution and Active Share/Alpha Potential and won an Honorary Dietz award from the Journal of Performance Measurement for his contribution to the discussion on Risk Adjusted Attribution.

He is a CFA charterholder, holder of the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM), and Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and has sat on the CFA’s Global Investment Performance Standards Investment Manager Sub-Committee.

In her role as Head of Sustainability Specialists, Danielle leads the team supporting end-to-end client sustainability propositions, including incubating sustainability commercialisation ideas, owning the sustainability narrative, and leading the development of sustainability training.

As Head of Sustainability, APAC, and Head of the Sustainability Institute, APAC Danielle develops and leads ESG strategy for the region, supports the integration of ESG factors into investment decision-making across Asia-Pacific, and advocates for the importance of sustainability capabilities with clients and other stakeholders across the region.

Previously, Danielle was Head of ESG for the Victorian Funds Management Corporation, and held senior roles in consulting and superannuation focusing on sustainability investing. Danielle has over 20 years of industry experience, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Kaplan, a Masters of Environment from The University of Melbourne, and a Masters of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University.

In London, Vishal worked in sales and consultant relations roles at M&G Investments, Schroders and Legal and General Investment Management.

Raf Choudhury is an Investment Director - Multi-Asset Investment Solutions where he is responsible for the development and management of multi-asset portfolios for the Australian market.

Raf joined the company in May 2022 from State Street Global Advisors where he held multiple roles, most recently as Head of Investment Strategy & Research - Australia.

In this role, Raf was in charge of producing and delivering bespoke client research as well as engaging with clients across a number of investment related topics.

Prior to that, Raf was a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for managing strategic, tactical and absolute return investment portfolios.
