Cybercrime is rising yearly with their methods becoming more sophisticated - with COVID forcing people to become more digital, it provides a perfect environment for cybercriminals to target email as it is a vulnerable type of communication. Unipass Mailock will bring an additional level of security and is a great solution for our advisers as it can utilise your Unipass identity that you use as authentication for our platform.
The solution is easy to use and can work with the following three user groups:
- Someone that has Unipass Mailock
- Someone that has a Unipass Identity
Someone with no Unipass products
Unipass Mailock User: if you have adopted Unipass Mailock and have the outlook add-in installed then you can double click the email and it will open. You will be able to reply or forward as a normal email with the added security
Unipass Identity User: If you have a Unipass Identity, and you receive a secure email from abrdn then you will receive a “read my message” notification. You will follow this link which will then present you a chance to log in using your Unipass Identity as authentication to read and reply to the message securely
No Unipass Product User: If you receive a secure email from abrdn and you do not have Unipass Mailock or Unipass Identity then you will be presented with the same notification as above with a link to “read my message”. When you follow the link, you will be prompted to “send code”, this will generate a second email to you with a code which you will then submit to verify your email address.
