Strategy highlights

  • An early-stage information technology emphasis, which offers the greatest potential for outsized performance, is complemented by select growth-stage and life sciences exposure.
  • Tactical portfolio construction of primary commitments, co-investments, and secondary investments designed to shorten the duration of the funds and optimize returns. All investments are made from the same vehicle with a consistent fee structure, eliminating potential conflicts.
  • Global exposure with up to 30% allocated to innovation hubs outside of Silicon Valley. Innovation is global today, driven by the plummeting cost to start a company, a more prevalent entrepreneurial mindset in Europe, and demographic tailwinds in Asia.

Our tenured experience as a primary investor allows our clients to benefit from the following:

  • A rigorous, highly informed and time-tested evaluation process
  • Exposure to access-constrained managers that have historically achieved top-tier returns, as well as best-in-class emerging managers
  • More than two decades of relationship building

secondary investments

Secondary investments

Secondary investments involve the buying and selling of pre-existing investor commitments to venture capital funds. We are well-placed and active in the secondary market, where our deep relationships, strong reputation and network of intermediaries give us a distinct advantage and allow us to offer our clients excellent access to this market.

If you are a potential investor, an intermediary, or secondary seller and would like to learn more, please contact us.

co-investments

Co-investments

Co-investments are direct investments into companies that are made alongside General Partners or independent sponsors. We principally seek opportunities in expansion- and growth-stage companies within the IT sector that have exhibited meaningful growth and strong operating metrics.

We have spent decades developing relationships with General Partners and independent sponsors resulting in a unique sourcing model that allows us to access high-quality direct investment opportunities. We then apply a disciplined process to identify and execute on the most attractive ones.

For our investors, we believe that there are many benefits to co-investing, including the ability to gain exposure to attractive investment opportunities. For sponsors, we seek to build a lasting relationship and be a reliable and efficient co-investment partner.

If you are a potential investor, fund manager, or independent sponsor and would like to learn more, please contact us.

Equity Trust

Strategically managed accounts

The Global Venture Capital team typically makes its investments through its core multi-manager funds. For clients with requirements that are not met by those vehicles, the team will develop tailor-made solutions that provide venture capital exposure while meeting a client’s specific risk and investment criteria.
