Financial advice referrals

In these Terms and Conditions the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings:

“abrdn Financial Planning and Advice” means abrdn Financial Planning and Advice Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 01447544, whose registered office is at 280 Bishopsgate, London, United Kingdom, EC2M 4AG;

“Street League” means Street League , a charity registered in England and Wales, with charity number 1101313 and registered in Scotland with company number SCO38884 , whose registered office is atUnit 2.4, Waulk Mill, Bengal Street, Manchester, M4 6LN;

“Refer a Friend Scheme” means this referral scheme provided by abrdn Financial Planning and Advice Limited, pursuant to which charitable donations will be made to Street League;  

“Referral” means the point whereby the Referred Person becomes a new client of abrdn Financial Planning and Advice or any of its subsidiaries or subsidiary undertakings; 

“Referred Person” means the person (not already a client of abrdn Financial Planning and Advice) referred to abrdn Financial Planning and Advice by the Referrer; and 

“Referrer” means an existing client of abrdn Financial Planning and Advice who refers the Referred Person to abrdn Financial Planning and Advice.

The following terms and conditions apply and are deemed to be accepted by anyone participating in the Advice Refer a Friend scheme. Please take time to read these Terms and Conditions as they contain important information. 

1. abrdn Financial Planning and Advice shall make a £100 donation, payable by cheque or bank transfer, to Street League for each successful Referral.

2. To qualify for the Refer a Friend Scheme, a Referrer must:

a) be an existing client of abrdn Financial Planning and Advice; and,

b) refer a Referred Person by sending them the link provided to the Referrer by abrdn Financial Planning and Advice, as updated from time to time which results in a successful Referral.

3. The donation to Street League will only be completed if the Referred Person successfully becomes a client of abrdn Financial Planning and Advice.

4. abrdn Financial Planning and Advice shall have the sole decision on whether any eligibility requirements in respect of the Referred Person or Referrer have or have not been met, without the need for additional correspondence or discussion being entered into. abrdn Financial Planning and Advice reserves the right to review, investigate, and disqualify entries to the Refer a Friend Scheme where client activities go against the spirit of the scheme, including where there are abusive practices, self-referral by using a different, disposable, or fake email address, or distributing a referral link via commercial advertising or spam. 

5. Referrers should only invite an individual to the Refer a Friend Scheme after receiving prior permission from the Referred Person to send, or have abrdn Financial Planning and Advice send, an email with the referral link to them. Referrers must comply with all up-to-date “spam” laws and marketing regulations, which may include the laws where the intended Referred Person lives. For example, emails must be created and distributed in a personal manner and bulk email distribution is prohibited. Any distribution of a referral link that could constitute unsolicited commercial email or “spam” under any applicable law or regulation is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for exclusion from the Refer a Friend Scheme.

6. By clicking on a referral link, the Referred Person acknowledges that some of their personal information may be sent to the Referrer who provided the referral link as confirmation. abrdn Financial Planning and Advice strongly advises that Referred Persons only use a referral link that they receive from someone they personally know and trust. Any personal information collected, processed, and used as part of the Refer a Friend Scheme, including that of the Referrer and Referred Person, will be used in accordance with abrdn Financial Planning and Advice Privacy Policy.

7. abrdn Financial Planning and Advice reserves the right to amend, modify, cancel or withdraw the Refer a Friend Scheme at any time without notice.

8. abrdn Financial Planning and Advice shall not be liable for any losses or damages that may result from entering or making use of the Refer a Friend Scheme.
