We believe that investing in transition leaders and climate solutions that can help transform our world, together with active engagement, provides us with a clear opportunity to deliver strong outcomes for our clients, and help the world on its path to net zero carbon emissions.
Our commitment
Change starts here. We’re proud to be a signatory to the Net Zero Asset Manager Initiative, which informs our investment approach. At COP26, we announced our ambitious target to reduce the carbon intensity of our assets by 50% by 2030 against a 2019 baseline. We also pledge to reduce our own operational carbon footprint by reaching net zero by 2040. We have committed to reducing emissions from energy use by 50% by 2025, procure 100% renewable electricity for our buildings, and offset those emissions we have yet to eliminate.

Many companies and countries across the globe have committed to working towards a net-zero 2050 goal to tackle the climate crisis. This goal is critical for our planet, and, as investors, we have an important role to play in achieving it. That’s why Aberdeen has joined the Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) initiative.
