abrdn Sustainable Index assets hits £20 billion Milestone
25 March 2024abrdn’s Quantitative Index Solutions team (QIS) marked a significant milestone last month, with its sustainable index assets hitting £20 billion assets under management in just three years.
The assets include the abrdn Sustainable Index World Equity Fund, the abrdn Sustainable Index American Equity Fund and the abrdn Sustainable UK Equity Fund, which each have an ongoing charge of 0.15%. The sustainable index assets also include segregated portfolios.
The rapid growth of this institutional range demonstrates strong demand for sustainable, low-cost passive strategies amongst pension funds, insurance clients and wealth managers. abrdn also utilises these low-cost sustainable assets in its Myfolio Sustainable Index range of funds.
Sean Phayre, Global Head of Quantitative Index Solutions, commented, “Our ability to raise £20billion demonstrates the strong demand for well run, low cost, sustainable strategies amongst patient capital. Our team has been managing indexation strategies with a demonstrable track record of success on behalf of sophisticated institutional investors for nearly 20 years. Our sustainable range is a natural extension of our market-leading indexing capability.”
Sustainable indexing aims to address the sustainability concerns of passive investors and deliver sustainable improvements whilst keeping the benefits of passive investing. abrdn has leveraged on the 20 years’ experience of its Quantitative Index Solutions team in delivering index solutions to design its own customised sustainable indices.
